Samuel J. Hawthorne

Areas of Practice

Mr. Hawthorne primarily practices in the areas of business law, tax law, estate planning, probate and trusts and estates law. This includes mergers and acquisitions, business transitions, asset protection, estate planning, planning and preparation of trusts and wills, trust and estate litigation, trust and estate administration, probate, guardianship, agricultural law, real estate and general business and commercial law. He assists clients in planning and organizing business entities and ventures, negotiating business acquisitions, sales and mergers and other complex commercial transactions. Mr. Hawthorne’s tax practice includes estate, gift and income tax planning for individual and business clients as well as representation of them in tax litigation before the U.S. Tax Court and in tax controversies before the IRS. His tax practice also includes representation of and planning for tax exempt and charitable entities.
