Jimmy Vaughn attended Texas Woman’s University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. Subsequently, he pursued post-graduate studies in Spanish at Midwestern State University. From there, Mr. Vaughn attended Texas Tech School of Law where he graduated with honors.
Mr. Vaughn grew up all over Texas in the foster care system but has two incredible parents in Keller, Texas who adopted him. In addition to his legal practice, he is a passionate advocate for children who are in the foster care system. While pursuing his undergraduate degree Mr. Vaughn began to give presentations to lawyers all over the Lone Star State sharing the importance of accounting for trauma while representing abused and neglected children. While at Texas Tech School of Law as a student, Mr. Vaughn drafted several pieces of legislation. Ultimately, this legislation and his advocacy resulted in the passage of laws which require the State of Texas to provide an attorney or other representative to a child in foster care.
Aside from his advocacy work, Mr. Vaughn’s legal practice consists primarily of litigation in the areas of creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, probate, and real property. Mr. Vaughn has tried a plethora of cases, including appeals to intermediate appellate courts and to the Supreme Court of Texas. Mr. Vaughn’s legislative and litigation background places him in the unique position to solve complicated client matters with compassion and integrity, in and out of the courtroom.
